New Year, New Site, New Sight
The infamous New Years Eve Blog post. Oh what a year 2009 has been.
For me, it has been absolutely incredible. I never thought my photography career would have progressed like it has. I remember about the days that I would dream about having some AlienBees of my own. I would have to say that 2009 has had more ups, than downs for me.
My very first shoot of 2009 was on the 3rd of January, with the band known as Exit Ghost:

That shoot...really kicked off my year. I had a blast shooting those guys.
For those photos, I used my Homemade DIY beauty dish, made from a $1.99 plastic bowl from a party store, that I spray painted and followed an online how-to. I only had my Vivitar 283 and Focal M500T hot shoe flashes. That, folks, is where it all started. I was hooked after that.
From there, I was able to reach my AlienBee gear list of goals by mid January/February. For once in my life, a dream of mine was coming true.
From there, most of you have seen my progression on Flickr. Which, I'm very grateful for all of the kind words and critiques that I get there. Big thank you to those who favorite the photos. You guys have helped me out a ton.
I'm not a huge fan of resolutions, rather, Goals. Some of mine would be:
- Purchase 5D, 17-40mm f/4L, 85mm F/1.8, 24mm F/2.8. Just a couple I have in mind
- Shoot Bigger Clients
- Shoot for AP
- Develop/define my style more
- Push myself harder than ever before - In my lighting techniques, editing, composition, color, placement, the whole 9 yards.
Even more thankful for the events that have happened. I went from using home-made light modifiers, to being part of 40/60 Photo - Which I could not be any more excited about. I remember when I used to look up to them and their amazing photos.
Like I said in my first video, You guys will be seeing a whole slew of video updates & behind the scenes photos and a lot more things from us at 40/60! I re-designed my online portfolio so I'll be launching that either late tonight or tomorrow.
I just have one last thing to say:
2010 will be the Year Of The Photographer.
Lets push the envelope. We got 365 Days, lets do this!
Eschaton
Naugatuck, CT | blog.peteyphotography.com
This shoot has been about a month and a half in the making. We were able to find a time where everyone's schedules worked and I think we got some great shots from this shoot. I might post up one or two more from the other locations that we went to, if they'd like to be seen.
Anyway, I took a trip to Naugatuck, Connecticut to shoot this really great metal band, Eschaton. We hung out for the afternoon and got to hear them jam/record some of their new songs.
Had a great time, we found some pretty nice locations and could not have asked for any better weather. Definitely check out their myspace when you get the chance.

Jeff’s Toyota Tacoma
Putnam, CT | blog.peteyphotography.com
A buddy of mine called me today to do a shoot of his Toyota Tacoma.
This thing is clean and I really like what he did with the wheels. At first I was apprehensive but I like the way they turned out. These pics are for www.thosedamnkids.com website.
I felt this background fit the character of the truck better. let me know what you think.

Warmer days
As spring brings it's warm air, more and more car enthusiasts make it out from their cold month slumber. Here's some recent shots of the ride. It's a bit dirty because I was just coming back from a shoot.

89 Ford Mustang

With Words
Got to shoot this dope band today. Took a ride to Chicopee, MA. It was about an hour trip but it was so worth it. The locations that we found today, have been some of my favorites by far. Enough of me. Just take a look:

Be sure to hit up their myspace - listen to their music, comments pics, leave a comment, etc!!
